Family Works youth mentoring supports young people, usually aged between 12 and 16 years, who are having a tough time and need some extra adult support and encouragement.
Our youth mentors, also known as Kaitautoko Whānau, are role models and become trusted friends. They walk alongside the teenager, put themselves in their shoes and help them through challenges. They listen, support, encourage and guide. They provide opportunities to have fun, and support young people to make positive choices and changes in their lives.
Youth mentoring is currently available in Hutt Valley, Wairarapa and Wellington. Please contact us on 0800 FAM WORKS to discuss your needs.
