We understand that sometimes it can be difficult to make ends meet. Many families have unexpected bills at times, that make putting food on the table for a family almost impossible.
But for residents of the South Wairarapa, Family is able to help. Our emergency food parcels provide enough hearty food for a family in need for two days.
The South Wairarapa Food Bank is available to residents of Featherston, Greytown, Martinborough and the surrounding rural and coastal areas. To request a food parcel, you just need to give the friendly team at Family Works Wairarapa a call on 06 308 8028.
Everyone who requests a food parcel is asked to complete a short assessment so we can ensure we’re best meeting your needs, and that of your family, in particular your children.
If the need for a food parcel becomes regular (more than three parcels) we’ll talk with you more about additional support services, such as budgeting advice. This is important as we want to make sure you’re getting the right support to be able to be independent again.
Family Works Central’s South Wairarapa food bank is only made possible thanks to the support and generosity of our communities.
Food donations can be dropped at the Family Works Wairarapa Centre at Turret House, 42 Fox Street, Featherston between 10am and 4pm Monday to Friday.
