COVID-19 Coronavirus response

Kia kaha New Zealand. We’re in this together.

Family Works is open and available to help during Covid-19 alert level 2, just as we have been at the higher alert levels. However, please be aware there are some changes to the way we are operating.

  • Family Works sites will be closed to the general public with clients coming in by appointment only.
  • If you have an appointment at a Family Works centre you will be asked to wait in your car or outside. A staff member will call or text you when it’s time to come in.
  • Staff will maintain appropriate physical distancing with clients.
  • Counselling rooms and meeting rooms will be wiped down after each client visit.
  • There will be no home visits under Level 2.

We understand that these continue to be difficult and challenging times for many. If you’re struggling to cope with what’s happening our counselling and social services are available. Please contact us – many of our services are subsidised or even free.

I want to come to the Family Works centre for my session, can I do this?
Core staff will be on-site. We will call you to make an arrangement for how to proceed with your session. This may mean that you can come into the centre, however there will be restrictions. Please call us to discuss.

I have family mediation scheduled, will this continue?
Our Family Dispute Resolution services are continuing. Many sessions continue to be conducted over the phone or video-calling (like Skype or Zoom) however we are conducting some sessions in person.

Can I still register for Family Dispute Resolution?
Yes. We already do online and phone registrations so in many ways it will be business as usual for us. Visit www.resolutionservices.org.nz or call us on 0800 737 6583 to register.
