At Family Works we take a whole-of-family approach that builds on the skills and strengths of the individual and their family, whānau and community relationships.
Our support and interventions are tailored and targeted to ensure we’re working in a way that is right for the family, whānau and their specific circumstances. We know that by providing this seamless service at the right level and the right time, outcomes for families are improved regardless of their problems, and individuals become more resilient and better equipped for the future.

Family Works is part of the not-for-profit organisation Presbyterian Support Central. Our federation structure sees seven regional organisations come together to provide nationwide support, collective efficiencies and a shared vision for the future.
Family Works has centres in more than 40 towns and cities nationwide and also provides home and community-based services.
But it’s Family Works’ on the ground presence in local communities that makes us different – and truly responsive to local needs. For Family Works Central that means we’re committed to supporting families across the lower North Island. We have centres in Wellington, Porirua, Hutt Valley, Wainuiomata, Wairarapa, Manawatu, Whanganui, Stratford, Hawera, New Plymouth and Waitara.
Family Works recognises that in order to achieve the best results we must partner with families, other agencies and referrers, schools, government and communities.
Our strong commitment to partnership means we’re able to coordinate services and ensure families have their needs met in the best way possible.
Our partners include government agencies, such as the Ministry for Children, Ministry for Social Development, Ministry of Justice, Department of Corrections and Ministry of Education, Children’s Teams, schools, Iwi, regional health and social service networks, Community Law and other fot-for-profit organisations.
